APATZINGAN, MICHOACAN, MEXICO — A violent escalation disrupted public safety in Apatzingan, located in the state of Michoacán, Mexico, after an armed confrontation between state law enforcement and armed individuals left three officers injured. According to official reports, the clash occurred during routine patrols conducted by the Civil Guard along the highway leading to the locality of Acahuato. The occupants of a gray Cherokee vehicle opened fire on the patrol units, triggering an exchange of gunfire before the suspects fled toward Acahuato.
Local authorities confirmed that three personnel sustained injuries during the encounter:
- Bruno Márquez Morales suffered an ankle injury.
- Luis Donaldo Banderas Torres sustained a wound near the chin.
