Guatemalan authorities arrested a 35-year-old man in Villa Canales following viral videos in which he displayed a firearm and threatened local residents.

Officers from the National Civil Police of Guatemala, with support from the Guatemalan Army, executed an operation on September 29, 2026, resulting in the apprehension of a suspect in the municipality of Villa Canales. The individual, identified by law enforcement authorities as 35-year-old Fernando "N," known by the alias "Lagrimita," was taken into custody following an investigation triggered by public video recordings.

According to official reports from the National Civil Police, investigators from the Specialized Investigation Division inside the agency located the suspect in the Los Carrascas alley, situated in the Santa Marta I area of the El Jocotillo village. Specialized officers from the Special Police Forces participated directly in the entry and restraint of the individual at his residence.

Prior to the judicial raid, the individual had produced and distributed digital videos across public networks. In the recordings, he displayed a firearm while issuing direct intimidation and threats of violence toward neighborhood residents. The wide circulation of the digital footage led law enforcement units to track and verify his location.

At the time of the police action, authorities verified that Fernando "N" already had an outstanding judicial arrest warrant issued by a domestic court in Guatemala. The judicial order was connected to charges of physical violence against women in a private context.

During the execution of the search warrant, law enforcement officers seized several items of interest:

  • One illegal Glock brand pistol
  • Four firearm magazines
  • 43 rounds of live ammunition

Following the search and seizure, the suspect was formally processed and transferred to judicial custody. He faces judicial proceedings covering both the outstanding warrant for physical violence against women and additional charges related to the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
